Scott McKellar

Since joining IP Pragmatics in 2016, Scott’s technology consulting work has spanned a varied range of UK and global industries, such as bioimaging, microbiology, medical devices, apps & software, industrial biotech, polymers, omics tools, agri-tech and functional food. As a senior consultant he leads market scoping and IP landscaping projects with university clients, and has a particular expertise in identifying commercial opportunities, value proposition analyses, strategic business positioning and route-to-market recommendations. Scott has also provided valuations for start-ups, commercial opportunity advice for a government agency, outsourced sales support for a service facility, competitive intelligence for a multinational consumer products company, and out-licensing opportunity evaluation for a large food manufacturer. Scott is also involved in IP Pragmatics’ marketing and business development activities, and was a lead author of our microbiome and artificial intelligence white papers. He has an MSci in Chemistry and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Strathclyde. Over the course of these degrees he also worked in the pharmaceutical and speciality chemical industries. From 2012 until 2016 he was an academic researcher in the field of materials science at the University of Edinburgh.
